How to remove Tooldawn virus – easy ways
I said Tooldawn virus, but I’m not sure if that’s a virus or not. Anyway, whatever it is (virus, malware, spyware, a corrupted registry, etc), I know it’s really annoying.
Nod32′s warning log system (or however it’s called) appears once every 10-15 minutes and shows a warning about a blocked internet adress, something like:
ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Address has been blocked.

My System runs on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and because of this “virus” the gadgets were somehow disabled, the instant message windows from yahoo messenger were unable to show what I was writing or what my contacts were writing to me. Also, some programs’ installers or .exe(cutables) didn’t worked.
1. A solution is to click start
-> type regedit in the searchbox and press enter
-> click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER
-> click on SOFTWARE
-> click on MICROSOFT
-> click on WINDOWS
-> click on CURRENTVERSION
-> click on INTERNET SETTINGS
-> and delete ”ZONES” folder (right-click and delete)… this solution worked for some people and didn’t for others. It didn’t work for me!
2. The best solution that worked perfectly for me was to use system restore. I restored my system to a previous date before beeing infected by tooldawn “virus”.
To restore your system on Windows 7/Vista just click start
-> type system restore in the searchbox and press enter
-> System Restore window should’ve appeared by now
-> click next and select “choose a different restore point”
-> click next and you’ll see a list of restore points
-> choose a restore date before the date when you were infected and you will have to confirm and then restart your computer to roll the system back.
